About Warangal: Once the capital of the Kakatiya kings, Warangal has a number of fine temples in its vicinity. Warangal can also be the base for another exploration of Andhra's historical heritage.
How to reach :Warangal is well connected by rail, road and air to the rest of the country. Kazipet is the nearest railhead.
Best time to visit :September to February

Warangal fort

Warangal Fort : The fort at Warangal was constructed with three distinct circular strongholds surrounded by a moat. Four paths with decorative gateways led to the centre where a huge Shiva temple once existed. But now much of the fort is in ruins.


Hunamkonda

Hunamkonda : This 1000 pillared temple on the slopes of Hunamkonda Hill, is a fine example of Chalukyan architecture. It was built in 1163 AD. This temple is famous for its intricate designs. It is open from 6 am to 6 pm.
