About Varanasi: Varanasi or Kashi is the city built by Lord Shiva. The holiest place of pilgrimage is located on the banks of the river Ganges. The city is famous for its Mandirs and Ghats where millions of people come every year from various parts of the country and from outside India to take holy dip in the Ganges and do Pujas.
How to reach :The nearest railheads are Agra, Allahabad, Delhi. Linked by air to Delhi, Agra, Khajuraho, Calcutta, Kathmandu. There are regular bus services and tourist buses going to Varanasi from different cities of Uttar Pradesh. ITDC cars and taxis are also available.
Best time to visit :September to February.
