About Omkareshwar: A holy island, shaped like the sacred Hindu symbol 'OM', Omkareshwar continues to draw thousands of devotees. Here the rivers Narmada & Kaveri meet & pilgrims gather at the confluence in large numbers to kneel & pay obeisance before the Jyotirlinga at the temple of Shri Omkar Mandhata.
How to reach :Nearest railhead is Omkareshwar Road on the Ratlam - Khandwa section of the western Railway. The nearest airport is Indore. Regular bus services also connect Omkareshwar to other parts of Madhya Pradesh.
Best time to visit :September to February.

Omkareshwar temple 1

Shri Omkar Mandhata : This temple, situated on an island, is made of stone with intricately carved friezes. Encircling the shrine are verandahs with columns which are carved in circles, polygons & squares.
