Jewish Synagogue : Adjacent to the Mattancherry Palace is the Jewish Synagogue built in 1568.This simple building at the end of a narrow lane has a marvelously rich interior. Carefully preserved land deeds inscribed on copper plates record the grant of the village of Anjuvanam to a Jewish merchant Joseph Rabban.

Mattancherry Palace : In the old quarter of Mattancherry is a palace built by the Portuguese in 1555 for the Cochin rajas. Later renovated by the Dutch, it came to be known as the Dutch Palace. The little museum at the Palace has a collection of costumes, palanquins & other trappings of royalty.

St Francis Church : At Fort Cochin, is the oldest Church in the subcontinent, established by the Portuguese Franciscan friars in 1503. It became a Protestant Church with the arrival of the Dutch & an Anglican Church after the British occupation. Vasco da Gama was buried in this churchyard.
